He was predeceased by : his brother Scott Severson; his sister-in-law Joletta Ihry; his grandparents, Vivien and Neva Visby; and his parents-in-law, Agnes Mitzel and Alfred Mitzel.

He is survived by : his parents, Loran Severson and Kaye Severson; his wife Janelle; his children, Dustin Severson (Ashley), Betsy Brend (Brock), Allison McNamara (Travis) and Martin Severson (Stephanie); his grandchildren, William, Lila, Jamison, Baya, Jack, Mila, Kamden, Tripp, Krosby, Everett and Kaiser; his siblings, Dave Severson (Maryann) and Cindy Koenig (Mike); his sisters-in-law, Darla Harstad (Robert), Deedee Kofoid (Dick) and Julie Zerface (Curt); and his nephew Jordan Severson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
