He is survived by: his wife Teresa Winkelman; his brother Clifton Scheaffer (Teri); his son Abraham Scheaffer (Amy); his grandchildren, Elliot, Gracia, Elisa, Lewis, Gideon and Ruth of Sheldon, IA; his son Noel Scheaffer (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Graham, Josiah and Micah of Sioux Falls, SD..
