He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Schmidt and Donna Schmidt (Palmer); and his siblings, Walter, Robert and Sheela.
He is survived by: his son Travis James; his wife Joan Kay (Sondag); his children, Rodney, Daniel, Steven, Marni and Becky; his grandchildren, Meadow, Mallory, Dylan, Katie, Caden, Nola, Addie, Anna Love, Kenyen, Evelyn, Hazel, Harrison and Luke; and his siblings, Annette, Sharon and Jerry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Eddy Funeral Home (621 1st Ave S, Jamestown, ND 58401).
