With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Speelmon in Jamestown, North Dakota, born in Williston, North Dakota, who passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Folkestad and Adeline Folkestad (Bakke); her husband Dan Speelmon; her siblings, Bonnie, Wayne and Gary; and her in-laws, Kenny, Harriet Speelmon, Frankie Davis, Philip Jung, Harvey Schuh and David Halvorsen.
She is survived by: her son Christopher John Speelmon; her family, Chris and Shelly; her sisters, Diane Smith, Dar Jung, Ruth Folkestad and Raelene Schuh; Chase and McKenna Speelmon. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was involved in in Ladies Petroleum, a social organization of women working in the oil industry, where she helped raise money for nonprofits and was a Women of the Moose member taking part in a variety of charity events and socializing.
