She was predeceased by : her parents, Harold Pokorny and Edna "Peg" Pokorny. She is survived by : her husband Larry Pirkl; her sons, Dr. Gregory (Evelyn Pirkl) and Nicholas (Kalynn Pirkl); her grandchildren, Jakob, Zachary, Benjamin and Katherine; and her siblings, Dr. David Pokorny (Dorothy), Michael Pokorny, Jan Tuel and Susan Bennett-Coyne. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the organization of their choice.
