The passing of Leonard Wald of Karlsruhe, North Dakota leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on June 30, 2025 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael J. Wald and Monica Wald (Boehm); his wives, Louise Casper and Ilene Ulledahl-Saari; his siblings, Bertha Choiniere and Ben Wald; his siblings-in-law, Teri Wald, Kathleen Ulledahl, Alice Tronson, Paul Choiniere, Clarence Tronson, Selmer Ulledahl, LeRoy Ulledahl, Donald Ulledahl, Clarence Ulledahl, Jr., Lawrence Ulledahl and Bill Billadeau; and his great grandchild Reagan Schenfisch.
He is survived by: his children, Darwin Saari (Susan), Laura Dankmyer (Ronald), Darcy Schiele (Jason), Mike Wald (Brenda) and Curt Saari (Michelle); his grandchildren, Jason Saari, Diane Saari, Amber Marroquin (Chris), James Schiele, Kimberly Schiele, Katrina Black (Travis), Dana Duchscherer (Cole), Heather Schenfisch (Dustin), Drew Saari (Emmy Dykema), Cory Dankmyer, Brandon Wald (Amanda Aasen) and Cierra Wald; his siblings, Monica Scott and Bill Wald (Grace); and his in-laws, George Ulledahl, Violet Bartsch, Fern Billadeau and Charlotte Beechler. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thompson - Larson Funeral Home (21 3rd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A prayer will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (500 Main St, Karlsruhe, ND 58744).
