He was predeceased by: his parents, John Braaten and Clara Braaten; and his siblings, Benny, Ardell, Jerry, Mabel Sargent, Trudy Rockstad and Crystal Cislo.
He is survived by: his wife Emily Ruth Dahl; and his children, RaeDell (Heidi), Daniel (Melissa), Joan Grabanski (Raymond), Kimberly Sklebar (Ron) and Cindy Vought (Mike). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, one great grandchild.
