He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Burtness and Olive Burtness (Jordheim); his wife Patty; his son Danny; his sisters, Mary Jane and Barbara Burtness; and his grandparents, Peter, Bentine Burtness, Emory and Emma Jordheim.
He is survived by: his sons, Steven (Stacie), Kevin (Stephanie) and Michael (Mandy Nelson); his grandchildren, Gina, Carson, Jamie and Sullivan; and his brother John "Bill" Burtness.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Lakota Lutheran Church (416 3rd St W, Lakota, ND 58344). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at the Lakota Cemetery (500 7th St W, Lakota, ND 58344).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lakota Rock Creek Golf Course or Lakota Ambulance Service.
