It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Merle Steinmann of Lakota, North Dakota, born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, who passed away on July 4, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Jean Steinmann and Leland Steinmann of Lakota, ND.; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Charon, James "Jimmy" Charon and Gordon Matejcek.

He is survived by : his wife Nancy Charon; his children, Heather, Ted (Kristi) and Jeanna; his grandchildren, Inga and Zelie; and his sister Erma Matejcek. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family thanks the VA Healthcare system, especially Dr. Rasmussen, for her care and guidance in what proved to be many difficult years with Parkinson's disease.
