With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth M. Hatten of Lakota, North Dakota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 25, 2026 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Stewart and June Stewart; her husband Neil Hatten; her brother Bob Stewart; and her sisters-in-law, Joyce Severson, Peggy Eidsness and Monica Schill.
She is survived by: her children, Greg of Bonita Springs, FL and Brenda; her son-in-law Chad Vertin of Reiles Acres, ND.; her grandchildren, Bailey Wood (John) of Alexandria, KY, Lindsey Vertin of Fargo, ND and Ethan Vertin of Fargo, ND.; her brothers, Jim Stewart (Karen) of Fargo, ND, Allen Stewart (Diane) of Milbank, SD and Roger Stewart (Janel) of Park Rapids, MN.; and her sisters-in-law, Elaine Stewart of Fairmont, MN, Charlotte Burt of Devils Lake, ND and Marilyn (Leonard).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lakota Cemetery, HIA Hospice, or Cancer research organizations.
