He was predeceased by : his parents, Adolph Thompson and Hazel Thompson (Peterson); his wife Janice Hanson; his siblings, Vernon Thompson (Lorraine), Layton Thompson (Viola), Chuck Thompson (Ethel), Chris Thompson and DeLores Wolf; his brother-in-law Ron Vandrovec; and his son-in-law Brad Hejtmanek.

He is survived by : his children, Karen Hejtmanek of Mantador, ND, Terry Thompson (Kathy) of Lisbon, ND and Brian Thompson (Michael Betlock) of Fargo, ND.; and his friend Chris Mairs. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
