He was predeceased by: his parents, Anselm Ternes and Deonella Ternes (Braun); and his siblings, Ambrose, Bill, Lenus, Raymond, Bert, Baldwin, Larry and Claudina.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Jansen; his daughters, Doris Cooper (Kevin), Kaye Ternes and JoDee Holzer (Blair); his grandchildren, BriAnna Menge, Pierce Cooper and Grace Cooper; and his sisters, Linda Gustin, Minnie Keller (Ron), Alvina Buck and Anisa Begger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Weigel Funeral Home (309 4th Ave NW, Mandan, ND 58554). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM and at 2:00 PM.
