He is survived by: his children, Harold, Michelle, James Jr., William and Trish; his grandchildren, Kris (Emily), Alyson (Misun), Samantha, Taylor, Joshua (Randee), Mitchell, Ryan, Megan, Morgan and James III; his great grandchildren, Kristopher, Jacob, Jonah, Zy'erria and Zaeir; his siblings, Janice and Raymond; and his sister-in-law Janet. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and Godchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 22nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A prayer was held on Wednesday, July 22nd 2026 at 7:00 PM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (200 Church St, Fort Yates, ND 58538). A Mass was held on Thursday, July 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
