He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuben Anderson and Irma Anderson (Fruechte); and his brother-in-law Earl Johnson. He is survived by: his siblings, Dorothy Johnson, Kenneth and Loren Anderson; his wife Mary Ann M. Hicken; his son Dan Anderson (Tina); his grandchildren, Andrew, Bailee (Tyler Nelson) and Alexis; his daughter Anita Halvorson (Tyler); his grandchildren, Carissa Turner (Cale) and Kaylie; his son David Anderson (Kari); his grandchildren, Ashton and Camri; and his children, Codi, Paige and Hailey.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (7111 Williamson Dr, Bismarck, ND 58503). A prayer was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery (1825 46th St, Mandan, ND 58554).
At Jonathan's request, in lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch or Ministry on the Margins.
