Leona Beckerdite Obituary

We announce the death of Leona Beckerdite of Mandan, North Dakota, who passed away on July 31, 2026, at the age of 92. Leona will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael C. Schafer and Irene Schafer (Wingenbach); her parents-in-law, Elmer and June Beckerdite; her significant other Richard Beckerdite; her son Bill Haag; her grandson Chris Haag; her siblings, Delores Ternes, Cal Schafer, Alfred Schafer, Bernetta, Richard, Leo and Adam; her sons-in-law, Val Kuntz and Gary Hauff; and her siblings-in-law, Bob Schuh, Elmer Keller, Robyn Schafer and Peggy Schafer.

She is survived by: her children, Debbie Kuntz of Lincoln, Pam Hauff of Jacksonville, Florida, Cindy Danford (Bobby) of Frenchtown, Montana and Shelly Gartner (Tom) of St. Anthony; her daughter-in-law Jackie Haag of Bismarck; her grandchildren, Don Haag (Ann) of Bismarck, Bryan Miller (Ashley) of Fort Worth, David Kuntz of Lincoln, Casey Wright of Frenchtown, Chelsey Richter (Brooke Wise) of Mandan, Tonya Berger of Mandan and Mason Haag (Macy Lorinser) of Mandan; her siblings, Eleanor Schaff of Surprise, Arizona, Phyllis Schuh of Sun City, Edna Keller of Linton, Cecelia Schafer of Linton, Sam Schafer (Ruby) of Hazen and N. Mike Schafer of Bismarck; and her sister-in-law JoAnn Schafer of Mandan. She is also survived by grandchild; 15 great-grandchildren.
