She was predeceased by: her husband Roger Willis; her mother Margit; and her brother-in-law Ken Granrud. She is survived by: her children, Lori Frank (Rob) and Nathan Hanson (Lacey); her stepchildren, Brandi Stensos (Jason), Brian Willis (Audra) and Corey Willis (Ashley); her siblings, Helen Nice (Stan), Ruth Granrud, Karen Kamp (Wayne) and Tom Walstad; her nephew Chris Walstad (Robin); her grandchildren, Wyatt, Jaxon, Landon, Carson, Brady, Brooklyn, Sloan, Neve, Ashton, Asher, Rowan and Zoe; and her great-nephew Nathan (Tiffany).
Mary then joined Dean Winkjer when he formed the Fred & Clara Eckert Foundation where she worked as his administrative assistant until her retirement in 2013.
