He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Schouwenburg and Lucille Schouwenburg (Caswell); his sister Sharon Riddle; and his brother-in-law Robert Riddle. He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Yarrow (Wayne) of Sioux Falls and Stanley Schouwenburg (Terri) of Hills, Minnesota; and his nieces, Kristi Duncan (Tom), Lisa Vos (Ryan), Amber Dessel (Brett), Michelle Anderson (Ryan), Meagan Heezen (Chris) and Melissa Riddle.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church in Mandan, North Dakota.
