He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Richard and Eileen Sandland (Morgen); his grandson Logan Hepper; his siblings, Calvin (Letha), Edwin, Adolph, William, Rudolph (Donna), Alvin, Ronald and Emma Barchenger (Hepper); and his in-laws, Darlys Hepper, Larry Hetterly, Cliff and Darlene Gilbertson (Sandland).
He is survived by: his children, Bobbi Olson (Kyle) of Buxton, ND, Linette Hagel (Todd) of Mandan, ND and Wade Hepper (Liz) of Aberdeen, SD; his grandchildren, Ty Hagel (McKenzie), Reed Hagel, Karlie Kleppen (Dustin), Jase Olson, Koy Olson, Dawson Hepper (Abigial), Kalin Hepper and Rylee Hepper; his great grandchildren, Briggs, Hattie, Sophie Kleppen, Casper and Shiloh Hagel; his siblings, Norma Schneider and Harold; his siblings-in-law, Lavern Hepper, Sis Hepper, Ruth Hepper and Raymond Barchenger Sr.; and his in-laws, Sharon Hetterly (Sandland), Marvin Sandland (Charolette), Jerry, Luella Wolfer (Sandland), Randy, LaVonne Pfitzer (Sandland), Ed and Verna Mosset (Sandland). He is also survived by his wife: children: grandchildren: great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church (408 9th St NW, Mandan, ND 58554). A prayer will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 at 3:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery (4606 State Hwy 1806, Mandan, ND 58554).
