He was predeceased by : his parents, Olaf J Flaten and Inga Flaten (Holm); and his siblings, Ruth, Cliff, Florence, Arthur, Claudine, James, Marion, Ione, Glenn, Mardell and Donna Mae.
He is survived by : his son Rodney Olaf (Julie) of Mayville, ND; his wife Ruth Aasen; his sons, Steven Aasen (Linda) of Indio, CA, Scott Aasen of Fargo, ND and Randall Aasen (Gail) of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Todd Aasen (Liz), Stefanie Aasen, Chris Aasen, Marcus Aasen (Katie), Isaac Aasen, Hannah Peterson (Benten), Jacob Flaten (Brandi) and Jordan Flaten (Ashley); his sister Inez Hanson; and his sister-in-law Alvia Flaten. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.
