He was predeceased by : his parents, Dagney Wechel and Aaron Van Wechel; his wife Avis; his daughter Vickie Cleveland; his siblings, Virgil, Robert Van Wechel, Amy Lou Johnson (Donald) and Joyce LaFleur; and his siblings-in-law, Ieleen Naas, Lester (Harriet), Irving (Alaine) and Tracey Naas.
He is survived by : his sons, Lynndel and Wendel (Ruth); his son-in-law David Cleveland; his grandchildren, Aaron (Tracie), Nathan (Tamara), Kyle VanWechel (Kari), Brandon (Laura) and Vanessa Cleveland; his great grandchildren, Hailey, Rilynn, Isaiah, Layla, Ava Cleveland, Brenden, Camden, Lukas, Zachary, Keely and Keenan Van Wechel; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Van Wechel and Rosalie Naas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Then covid hit and the resort closed.
