He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Jr. Lauer and Katie Lauer (Neff); and his daughter-in-law Mary Lauer. He is survived by: his wife Alice Herr; his children, Vicki Lauer of Grand Junction, Colorado, Lyle Lauer (Lisa) of Grand Junction and Mark Lauer of Beulah, ND; and his sister Shirley Wilson of Coleharbor, ND. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
