It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathleen J. Aaser of McVille, North Dakota, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on April 8, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Berthold and Elizabeth Berthold (Polak). She is survived by : her daughter Janet Nelson (Jon) of Grafton, ND; her granddaughters, Jade Kisch (Alex) and Jocelyn Tucker (Benjamin); her great grandchild Kellen Kisch; her siblings, Fran Nord (Ole), Ted Berthold (Janice), Jeff Berthold, Jennifer Larson (Elwood), Michele Kapitzke (Jim) and Joey Berthold; and her friend Darlene Reinhart. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the Stanley-Iverson Funeral Home (116 Sheyenne St, McVille, ND 58254). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

“I just learned of Kathy's passing and want to extend my sincere condolences to her family. Her dad, Joe, was my cousin and I remember him and Liz fondly. I don't get back to North Dakota often, but I remember going years ago to Joe's Bar. I understand she took over the beloved neighborhood bar, which was loved by all as a wonderful "Cheers"-style neighborhood gathering place.
