Norman J. Alme Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norman J. Alme of Milnor, North Dakota, who passed away on September 17, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe and Betsy; his daughter Marianne Tjardes; his stepson Bradley Foertsch; his grandson Jacob Foertsch; his great grandchild Myles Ronke; and his siblings, Melvin, Arnold, Robert, Dennis, Russel, Mildred Canevello, Laura Welsh and Eileen Wiper.

He is survived by: his wife LaVonne Foertsch (Milnor); his children, Nathan Alme (Sheri), Kenneth Alme (Crystal), Melinda Hutchison (Michael), Stephanie MacDonald (Brian) and Steven Alme (Jeanne Berns); his son-in-law Rich Tjardes; his former wife Alice Alme; his brothers, Tom (Pat) and Joe (Joyce); and his sister-in-law Colleen Alme. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many beloved nieces, nephews.

A prayer was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the St. Arnold's Catholic Church (107 3rd St, Milnor, ND 58060). Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (605 Main St, Drake, ND 58736). A rosary was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Four Seasons Health Care in Forman, ND, where Norm received compassionate and loving care.
