He is survived by: his wife Erna Starr (Gose); his children, Jesse Starr (Ruth), Alfred Starr (Beth), Jayson Starr (Melinda), Cora Huffman (Brian), Walter Starr (Rachel) and Anthony Starr (Candice); and his grandchildren, Jared Starr (Grace), Jonathan Starr (Taneil), Jessica Starr, Caleb Starr (Hannah), Destini Starr, Chantry Starr, Delani Starr, Justin Flores, Summer Starr, Orrin Starr (Adis), Andrew Huffman, Anthony Huffman, Austin Huffman, Ashley Huffman, Emily Starr, Seth Starr, Amelia Starr, Luke Starr, Callie Starr, Talon Starr, Kaitlyn Starr, Nolan Starr, Natalie Starr, Olivia Starr and Judah Starr. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His last message to the church was a challenge to remain unintimidated and fearless in the wake of Covid-19 or anything else that life presented.
