We are sad to announce that on October 29, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Carla R. Schilken of Minot, North Dakota. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roger Backes and Connie Backes (Schimmelpfennig); her parents-in-law, Pat and Bob Schilken; her siblings-in-law, Dick Vogel and Patti Miller; and her niece Tiffany Geer.
She is survived by: her husband Rick Schilken; her children, Chris Schilken (Erika), Cameron Schilken (Sara) and Dani Dolbeare (Brent); her grandchildren, Vaida, Hazel, Burke Schilken, Bella, Knox, Mack, Case Schilken, Reggan, Anabelle and Slade Dolbeare; her brothers, Brian Backes (Joan), Blair Backes (Annette) and Bryce Backes; and her siblings-in-law, Gayle Vogel, George Lach (Kathie), Jim Geer (Jeani) and Jay Schilken (Shelley).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home (21 3rd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (707 16th Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701).
Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry.
