She was predeceased by: her husband Robert; her parents, Mark Effertz and Dorothy Effertz; her brother Tim Effertz; her sister-in-law Fran Effertz; her parents-in-law, Vincent and Barbara Schwan; and her siblings-in-law, Bernadette, Bob Wright, Richard Schwan and Rita Schwan.
She is survived by: her children, Dale Schwan (Lorilyn), Karen Schwan Holman (Mike) and Patrick Schwan (Colleen); her grandchildren, Nicholas, Mallory, Briana, Tyler and Brady Schwan (Brenna); her great grandchild Penelope Schwan; her siblings, Joe Effertz, Jeanie White (Jim) and Dr. Susan Effertz (Chuck Kuether); her in-laws, Jerry Schwan, Joanne Feist (Joe), Dennis Schwan, Sandy Nordstom (Kim) and Judy Schwan; and also Arlis Effertz (Tim). She is also survived by many nephews, nieces and other extended family.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home (21 3rd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A prayer was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Leo Catholic Church (218 1st St SE, Minot, ND 58701). A graveside service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sawyer Community Cemetery.
