He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Newman and Claire Newman (Henjum); and his sister Carol Newman. He is survived by: his wife Margie Newman; his children, Todd Newman, Olivia Newman and Shauna Garrahy (Jon); his grandchildren, McKenna and Blakely Garrahy; his close friend Nancy Morken; the mother of his children Margie Newman; his siblings, Donald Newman (Joni) and Connie Newman; his siblings' children, Kimberly McNally (Kelsey), Matthew Benjamin (Portia) and Tylor Miller (Jennifer); and his uncle Dennis Newman (Janice).
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 29th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home (21 3rd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 30th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church (2600 W Central Ave, Minot, ND 58703).
