We announce the death of Donald MacKay III (Minot, North Dakota), who passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 76. Donald will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald MacKay Jr. and Nellie MacKay (Polkosnick); his brother Dennis MacKay; his parents-in-law, Jack and Maybeth Holt; his brother-in-law George; and his nephew Dennis Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Ruth MacKay of Minot; his children, David MacKay (Kira) of Minot and Heather Nevland (Chad) of Alma, Wisconsin; his grandchildren, Preston, Devin MacKay, Jackson, Grace, Maxwell MacKay, Brailey and Kaelyn Nevland; his brother Ramsey MacKay (Carolyn); his sister-in-law Pam MacKay; and his family, Disney and Legos. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (3740 Crossing St SW, Minot, ND 58701).
