With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Wald of Minot, North Dakota, who passed away on December 4, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ambrose Wald and Kathryn Wald (Feist); his grandfather Feist; his daughter Rebecca; his grandson Kirksten Elm; and his siblings, Patrick, Timothy, Robert, Valerie Wald, Mildred Bartsch and Audrey Engelhard.
He is survived by: his wife Bertha Bartsch; his children, Mary Zeece (Gregory), Deena Elm (Michael), Duane Wald (Patti) of Surprise, AZ, Pamela Thomas of Austin, TX, Steven Wald (Kathy), Julie (Peter), Stewart of Plymouth, MN, Douglas Wald (Tara) of Easley, SC, Jeffrey Wald (Hollie) of Fort Collins, CO and Aaron Wald (Amy) of Seattle, WA.; his grandchildren, Benjamin (Alli), Haley, Josef Zeece (Holly), Brian, Jerik (Kristen), Kyler (Dailey), Kalan, Shayla, Bryson Elm, Drake (Kalea), Burke Wald, Chandler Thomas, Zachary (Bailey), Madison, Maya Wald, Hannah Jansen (Garret), Elijah (Ethlyn), Annika Stewart, Owen, Evan Wald, Brekken, Eva, Boden Wald, Lilliana, Wren and Vivian Wald; his stepgranddaughters, Ayanna and Kyla Hollier; his siblings, Lindamarie Spaulding, Sandra Valensky (Carl), Brian Wald (Bonnie) and Ramona Miller; and his in-laws, Carolyn Shelley, Charles Bartsch and Gerri Lynn Wald.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church (2600 W Central Ave, Minot, ND 58703). A vigil service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
