She was predeceased by: her parents, Keith Knutson and Gunda Knutson (Johnson); her husband Donald "Irish" Gates; her son Donald C. Gates; her sons-in-law, James Wheelihan and Bruce Durheim; and her siblings, Casper Knutson, Mildred Mugaas, Beatrice Brekhus, Knute Knutson, Silas Knutson and Victor Knutson.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Bonnie Gates; her children, Ann Zeltinger (Terry), Lynette Durheim, James Gates (Susan) and Jerry Gates (Tamie); her grandchildren, Phil Gates (Apryl), Stephanie Malek (Jeff), Erin Holt (Kelsey), Ben Zeltinger (Robyn), Tyson Zeltinger (Chelsey), Jason Gates (Sarah), Andy Gates (Meggan), Stacey Schoemer (Patrick), Peter Gates (Bethany), Kristin Woodward (Brent), Brandon Gates (Kalie) and Colton Gates; her great grandchildren, Betty, Vivian Gates, Penelope, Daphne Malek, Harper, Henrik, Emerson Holt, Molly, Lucy Zeltinger, Liam, Cade, Effie Zeltinger, Maria, Emily, Greta, Haley Gates, Makenna, Lakynn, Holynd Gates, Taylor, Ryan Schoemer, Violet and Beau Gates; and her siblings, Clifford Knutson (Phyllis) of Fergus Falls, MN and Florence Nesland of Allentown, PA.
