It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Layne Johnson of Minot, North Dakota, who passed away on March 18, 2026, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Johnson (Weltikol) and Robert Johnson; his sister Jan Machette; and his brothers-in-law, Fred Felix and Rick Sepulveda.
He is survived by: his siblings, Shannon Johnson, Shari Johnson (CA) and Christina Haugen (Lance); his nieces and nephews, Tani Machette (OR), Kendra Neff (Mike), Levi Haugen, Cody Haugen, Jordan Felix and Alana Sepulveda (CA); his brother-in-law Frank Machette; and his nieces and nephews, Liam, Lola Neff and Frankee Vargas. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
