He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Nissen and Edna Nissen (Stone); his brother Otto; and his half-siblings, Irv, Vern, Ray and Linda.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, William T, Peggy Nissen (Wald), Machelle (Kevin Howe) and April (Aaron Boatright); his grandchildren, William Matthew, Amanda (Anderson), Levi, Kelly (Loos), Evan Nissen, Heather, Ryan Lowe, Hannah and Nicholas Boatright; and his great grandchildren, William Cash, Oliver, Penelope Nissen, Dylon, Alonna Kolobakken, Ryleigh, Hadleigh, Finley and Renley Lowe.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Thompson - Larson Funeral Home (21 3rd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (200 E Burdick Expy, Minot, ND 58701).
