He was predeceased by: his parents, Ole Smith and Mae Smith (Brotherton); his wife Ann Ketterling; and his siblings, Kenneth, Kermit, Verda Knox, Lorraine Houghton, Shirley Maguire and Earlda Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Smith (Marie Bopp), David (Angie Smith), Peggy Smith and Harley Smith; and his grandchildren, Amber Miller (Jason), Austin Smith (Jasmine), Allyssa Moch (Thomas), Cody Smith (Abbie), Justin Smith (Sara) and Emily Lux (Jacob). He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
