He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Kuntz and Barbara Kuntz (Schutt); his sisters, Ann and Frances; his brothers-in-law, Marty Sperle, Joe Becker and Leo Piatz; his niece Tamara Braunberger; his nephew-in-law Joey Hilzendeger; and his friends, Alfred Schafer (Peggy) and Ray Haider (Geraldine).
He is survived by: his children, Peter Kuntz (Kim), Todd Kuntz (Renee) of Copperas Cove, TX, Toby Kuntz (Sherrie) of Mandan, Corey Kuntz (Denise) of Mandan and Tonya Kuntz of Mandan; his grandchildren, Jesse Kuntz (Aubrianna), Kaleb Kuntz, Sierra Durrett (Cody) of Copperas Cove, TX, Georgia Kuntz, Grace Kuntz, Summer Kuntz (Mason), Stetson Kuntz, Garret Kuntz, Kaylee Kuntz (Colton) and Ashlynn Kuntz; his great grandchildren, Owen, Olivia Durrett, Charlie and Walker Kuntz of Copperas Cove, TX.; the mother of his children Carol Kuntz; and his sister Marion Piatz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Weigel Funeral Home (309 4th Ave NW, Mandan, ND 58554). A vigil service was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (108 3rd St NE, Mandan, ND 58554).
