He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Engelter and Frieda Engelter (Hoherz); his in-laws, Roy and Katherine Kahovec; his brother-in-law Norbert Hoesel; his nephew Bradley Kitzman; and his cousin Roger Bueligen.
He is survived by: his child Lee Robert Engelter (Margi); his wife Naomi Kahovec; his child Joana Friesz (Duane); his grandsons, Taylor Friesz (Karen) of Minnesota, Jacob Engelter (Carissa) of New Salem, ND, Thomas Friesz (Jamie) of New Salem, ND and Raymond Engelter of New Salem, ND; his great grandchild Tully Friesz of New Salem; his siblings, Betty Hoesel of New Salem, ND, Gloria Kitzman of New Salem, ND and Lester Engelter of Wyoming; his nephews, Les Hoesel (Jodi) of Mandan, Lynn Hoesel (Melody) of New Salem and Brian Kitzman of Wyoming; Andy and Foxy Brunen.
