She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Schmidt and Clara Schmidt (Anderson); her grandson Matt; her husband Charles Maier; her brother Clayton; her sister-in-law Edna Schmidt; and her grandchildren, Matthew Franciere and Katie Jo Maier.
She is survived by: her children, Greg Maier (Diane) of New Salem, Marie Wolsky (David) of Cando and Loren Maier (Renee) of Glenwood, MN.; her grandchildren, Melanie Nilles (Allen), James Franciere (Monique), Kate Tolstad (Devin), Amy Miller (Jaread), Lacey Maier, Bobby Wolsky (Mel), Pace Maier (Sydney) and Karly Nelson (Drew); and her great grandchildren, Sydney, Lexi Nilles, Jamie, Matt Franciere, Hunter, Avery, Harper, Brynn Tolstad, Kolter, Kasyn Miller, Mattie Jo Maier, Zenny Maier, Scarlett Wolsky, Rowen and Millie Nelson.
Memorials are preferred to the New Salem Historical Society or Elm Crest Manor in New Salem.
