He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Halstenson and Arabelle Halstenson (Haddow); his siblings, Ruth Barry, Juel Halstenson and Rodney Halstenson; and his niece Angela Barry.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Broten; his children, Heidi Rohrich (Scott), Timothy Halstenson, Lowell Halstenson (Melissa) and Matthew Halstenson; his grandchildren, Tanner Rohrich, Meghan Rohrich, Sean Halstenson, Tyler Halstenson and Silas Halstenson; his sister Barbara Gannarelli (Rick); his mother-in-law Dorothy Broten; and his siblings-in-law, Helen Entze (Larry), Joanne Roblewsky, Margie Halstenson and Ernest Broten. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
