It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Doty Jr. of Oakes, North Dakota, born in Canova, South Dakota, who passed away on April 16, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Vernon Sr. Doty and Vira Doty (Carpenter); and his siblings, Nathan and Sharon Hurt. He is survived by : his siblings, Karen Swearingen (Jack) of Crete, ND, Diane Baldwin (Brad) of Grand Junction, CO and Wayne Doty (Kathy) of Oakes, ND. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews.

A prayer was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 7:00 PM. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Nazarene (1019 Ivy Ave, Oakes, ND 58474). Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 3:30 PM.
