He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilma Johnson (Gorder) and John M. Johnson; and his siblings, Melvina Johnson, Donna Conroy, Jean Brateng, Judy Troftgruben and Duane Johnson.

He is survived by: his brothers, Lorn Johnson (Barb) of Dallas, OR, John D. Johnson (Audrey) of Park River, ND and Roger Johnson (Katie) of Park River.
