He is survived by : his wife Gail Halvorson of Portland; his children, Amber Halvorson (Lenny) of Harrisburg, SD and Brian Halvorson (Emily) of Mayville, ND; his grandchildren, Addison, Evan Steinberg of Harrisburg, SD, Jack, Charlie and Teddy Halvorson of Mayville, ND; his sister Jerlyn Wright (Vernon) of Mt. Vernon, WA; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Heskin (Nancy) of Devils Lake, ND and Linda Ingebretson (Lois Hofstrand) of Mayville, ND. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
