He was predeceased by: his parents, Bendict Houle and Anna Houle (LaFountain); his daughter Jocelyn; his grandson Kaylob; and his siblings, Larry, Joe, Marlin, Duane, Ronnie, Dave, Curt, John, Veronica, Marie, JoAnn and Linda.
He is survived by: his wife Caroline Short; his children, Ernest Houle Jr. of Fargo, Ronald Houle (Kayla) of Belcourt, Jered Houle of Belcourt and Jackie Charbonneau; and his siblings, Barbara Houle of Belcourt, Lynette Turcotte of Belcourt, Debra McCanna of Devils Lake and Dennis Houle of Belcourt. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
