He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred LaFountain and Stella LaFountain; and his sisters, April LaFountain and Janelle LaFountain. He is survived by: the mother of his children Gloria Goldtooth; his siblings, Alfred and Stella LaFountain; his children, Aurah LaFountain, Saige LaFountain and Samuel LaFountain; his granddaughter Nenah LaFountain; and his siblings, Sheila Davis (Ken) of Belcourt, ND. and Perry LaFountain (Judy) of Belcourt, ND.. He is also survived by many Aunties, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, and Numerous life long friends.
He was able to thank the UNM Hospital Trauma Department for saving his life after doctors and administrators commissioned him to produce a sculpture that was donated to UNM Hospital.
