He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Volk and Elizabeth Volk (Merck); his grandson Jared Volk; his daughters-in-law, Ardyce Volk and Cindy Volk; and his siblings, Edward Volk, Herman Volk, Lawrence Volk, Jerome Volk, Elizabeth Thompson, Marie Hertz and Regina Volk.

He is survived by: his wife Mavis Saude; his children, Theone Stevenson (Wayne) of Rugby, David Volk of Rugby, Dale Volk of Rugby, Eugene Volk (Kristi) of Rugby, Ron Volk (Hallie) of Rugby, Linda Schneider (Doug) of Rugby, Marilyn Yoder (Mark) of Rugby and Bruce Volk of Maple Grove, MN; his grandchildren, Eric Stevenson (Alison) of Williston, Troy Volk (Deanna) of Rugby, Christopher Volk (Sadie) of Minot, Keighly Johnson (Jerry) of Bismarck, Kendra Miller (Chad) of Dickinson, Sara Halvorson (Tyler) of Rugby, Kelsea Nichols (Drew) of Stanley, Allison Lovcik (Kyle) of New Town, Jessica Fritz (Jesse) of Rugby, Danny Schneider (Tallie) of Rugby, Dustin Yoder (Nichole) of Minot, Nathan Yoder of Rugby and Austin Yoder (Anakate) of Nashville, TN; and his siblings, Agnes Kelly of Dickinson, Theresa Paul of Rugby, Janice Schmidt of San Jacinto, CA, Virgil Volk (Ruth) of Portland, OR and LeRoy Volk (Sandy) of Hemet, CA.. He is also survived by 31 great grandchildren.

Memorials are preferred to Little Flower Cemetery or Little Flower Catholic School in Rugby.
