He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike Muffenbier and Johanna Muffenbier (DeGroat); his son Gerald N; and his siblings, Wesley, Dennis, Gerald, Mary Ann and Joan.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Axtman; his son Kevin (Toni); his siblings, Rod and Mary Lou Bahnsen; his grandchildren, Taylor Gleason (Reed), Jordan Waswick (Ben) and Jesse Muffenbier; his great grandchild Ryder Gleason; and his sisters-in-law, Myrna Muffenbier and Irene Kramer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Niewoehner Funeral Home (213 2nd Ave SW, Rugby, ND 58368). A prayer was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church (301 Main St, Balta, ND 58368). A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
