He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Murphy and Clara Murphy (Christofferson); his wife Barbara Thomas; his siblings, Gilmore, Howard, Joe and Ralph; and his daughters-in-law, Allison Murphy and Bobbie Jo LaRocque.
He is survived by: his son Tony (Carleen); his grandchildren, Twila Gourneau (Kelan), Alexis Murphy, Angelique Jeanotte-Baros, Matthew Murphy (Hailey Delorme) and Jo Jeanotte; his son Richard (Traci Louden-Ose); his grandchildren, Kayla Bult (Danny), Cameron Murphy and Jordan Murphy (Dean'a Seelig); his son Bill (Kim); his grandchildren, Mitch (Chelsey), Ty (Bobbie Miller), Dylan (Jessica), Hope Kenney (Daniel), Fallon Nadeau (Nathanael), Faith, Eliana, Autumn, Myles and Skye; his son Lonny (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Courtney Schuler (Devan) and Bailee Murphy (Patrick Moen); his daughter Lynette Thomas (Jerry Allery); and his grandsons, Preston Wilson and Austin Thomas. He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (484 4th St SW, Forman, ND 58032). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location. The military honors was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Fargo National Cemetery (8709 40th Avenue North, Co Rd 20, Harwood, ND 58042).
