He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Pierce and Dorothy Pierce; his former wife Sharon Pierce (Nibbe); his in-laws, Raymond, Olive Nibbe, Walter and Inez Roth; his brother Donald Pierce (Deb); his siblings-in-law, Darlene Bader (Ray), Jolene Roth, Brian Roth and Joel Roth; his nephew Todd Pierce; and his great grandchild Nicholas Pierce.
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Robb Pierce (Ali) of Scranton, ND, Shawn Pierce (Apryl) of Scranton, ND and Rhonda Ehlis (Dan) of Dickinson, ND; his stepchildren, Lisa McLeod (Tater), Blair Stelter, Shannon LeFebre and Shawn Stelter (Chanda); his granddaughter Katie Pierce (Lucas); his stepchildren, Kaitlyn Paulson (Josh), Alex Paulson, Trevor Paulson, Kaylee Candrian (Connor), Hudson Pierce (Kaitlin), Blake Pierce, Lauren Ehlis, Taylor Morgan, Luke Morgan, Jake Morgan, Dylan Stelter, Derek Stelter (Abi), Anna LeFebre, Faith Stelter and Samuel Stelter; his great grandchildren, Michael Pierce, Stephanie Pierce and Addison Pierce; his granddaughters, Eliza Candrian and Louise Candrian; his sister LaVonne Brown (Frank); his siblings-in-law, Rodney Nibbe (Maxine), JoAnn Jacobsen (Tom), Gloria Roth, Dennise Rivinius (Larry), Marcy Haase (Morris), James Roth (Rachelle) and Arlen Roth (Carrie); and his aunts, Dorothy Schmidt (Dort) and Beulah Buckman (Bunny). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family encourages that, instead of flowers, remembrances ofDuane be given to the Scranton Fire Department.
