She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Bachmeier and Christine Bachmeier (Marquart); her husband Mike Schmaltz; her siblings, Anton, Joe, Matt, Pete, Marcella Bachmeier, Theresa Jones and Phyllis Lesmeister; and her great grandchildren, Joanna and Tillie Tofteland.
She is survived by: her daughter Brigitha Schmidt (Tim); her grandchildren, Travis and Yolanda; her daughter Judy Schmaltz (Kenny Rieger); her grandchildren, Jackie and Kelly; her son Charles M. Schmaltz (Peggy); her grandchildren, Katie, Tyler, Alex and Nathan; her son Wayne Schmaltz (Sharon); her grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle; her daughter Mary Kay Wacker (Craig); her grandsons, Derek and Michael; and her siblings, Cecilia Carrasquilla, Chris Haman and Lawrence Bachmeier (Karen). She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
