With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Donald Leroy Kjosen of Stanley, North Dakota, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Harvey, Annie, North of Van Hook, ND, Melvin, Mabel Kjosen, Evan and Alma Kjosen; his wife Verlee; his children, Donelle Niemitalo and Baby Kjosen; his great grandchild Sadie Zamarripa; his son-in-law Wesley Niemitalo; his parents, Melvin Kjosen and Mabel Kjosen; and his siblings, Bernice, Merrel and Dean.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Kjosen (Monica) and Mari Gleason (Robert Archer); his grandchildren, Danny Niemitalo (Laura), Ann McDermott (Brian), Thomas Kjosen (Molly), Maria Zamarripa (Danny) and Lauren Gleason; his great grandchildren, Lydia, Jack, Lane, Landon, Annabelle, Josie and Claire; his stepgrandchildren, Kayden and Brennan; his grandson Atlas; his brother Roland Kjosen; and his siblings-in-law, Steven Thompson, Joe Ness, Jim Walters, Jack Cremer, Joan Long (Jerry), Beverly Thompson and Penny Thompson. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Springan Stevenson Funeral Home (120 12th Ave SE, Stanley, ND 58784). A family service was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the American Lutheran Church (401 1st St SW, Stanley, ND 58784).
