He was predeceased by: his father Gary McGinnity; his son Dylan McGinnity; and his grandparents, Vernon, Lillie Pappa, Gene and Florence McGinnity.

He is survived by: his mother Sandra McGinnity (Pappa); his stepdaughter Deborah Jones; his stepgrandsons, Elijah and Johnny; his stepdaughter Elizabeth Jones; his siblings, Jodi Obert (Perry) of Stanley, Donna Hegstad (Mitch) of Minot, Vickie McGinnity of Minot and Lee McGinnity (Camille) of Powers Lake; and his nieces and nephews, Charlie, Kaylyn, Lily Obert, Gabriel, Faith, Joshua, Grace Hegstad, Michael McGinnity and Jacob McGinnity. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
