She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Sylvester and Nancy Sylvester. She is survived by: her husband Curt Hemstad; her children, Craig Hemstad (Angela) of Glenburn, ND, Jennifer Hollinger (Kermit) of Renton, WA and Leif Hemstad (Anne) of Austin, TX; and her pet Charlie (Curt). She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Springan Stevenson Funeral Home (120 12th Ave SE, Stanley, ND 58784). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the American Lutheran Church (401 1st St SW, Stanley, ND 58784).
